Mr. Abdulla Shahid, held today, a coordination meeting with H.E. Ambassador\u00a0Ronaldo Costa Filho, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations in his capacity as the incoming President of the Security Council for the month of July 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 20.4pt;background: white\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: black\">Ambassador Costa Filho briefed the President on the programme of the work of the Security Council during Brazil\u2019s Presidency in July, highlighting its signature events, including two open debates, one on Strategic communications in peacekeeping operations\u00a0<span><span>on 12 July<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and another on Children and Armed Conflict,\u00a0<span><span>on 19 July<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 20.4pt;background: white\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: black\">President Shahid recognized the importance of these topics and commended Brazil\u2019s efforts to keep these issues on the top of the agenda of the Security Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 20.4pt;background: white\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: black\">The discussions also touched on the Security Council reform, the ongoing Ocean conference as well as the conflict in Ukraine and its impact on the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 20.4pt;background: white\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: black\">The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: black\">30 June 2022<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the General Assembly, H.E.
