This is a two-day high-level meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will be an opening session on Thursday at 10AM in the General Assembly Hall. The speakers will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>President of the General Assembly Abdulla Shahid<\/li>\n<li>Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres<\/li>\n<li>WHO Director-General Representative Stewart Simonson<\/li>\n<li>Secretary General\u2019s Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the opening session, the General Assembly is expected to adopt a Political Declaration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the adoption, there will be a press stakeout in the General Assembly East Foyer at around 11:30 AM. We expect President Shahid, Mr. Simonson, representing WHO, and Special Envoy Jean Todt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The rest of Thursday\u2019s meeting will be in a plenary session format.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then on Friday, there will be three multi-stakeholder panels. The plenary will wrap up and then a closing segment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At 11AM on Friday, there will be a press conference in this room. The focus will be on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Road Safety Fund. The speakers will be PGA Shahid, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵECE Executive Secretary Olga Algayerova and Special Envoy Jean Todt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the high-level meeting, there are a number of related events.<\/p>\n<p>You have a joint media advisory in your inboxes with the details, and with the contact information for my colleagues at WHO, the Special Envoy\u2019s office, and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Road Safety Fund.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>IF ASKED ON MIGRANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is very sad. We understand that an additional 16 people &#8211; including four children &#8211; have been taken to the hospitals. This latest incident is just one of many around the world. The first International Migration Review Forum was just held in May under the auspices of the General Assembly.
