The President of the General Assembly during the seventy-sixth session, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid met with H.E. Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Foreign affairs of Georgia.<\/p>\n

President Shahid expressed his gratitude to the Minister Darchiashvili for the invitation and warm welcome to Georgia. He underlined the excellent cooperation and support from the Mission of Georgia to the United Nations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Both leaders discussed current challenges to multilateralism, recent initiatives to strengthen the role of the General Assembly and the need for\u00a0revitalization\u00a0of the United Nations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
They\u00a0also\u00a0discussed\u00a0peace and security, as well as\u00a0humanitarian issues in Georgia and\u00a0the\u00a0region.<\/p>\n

President Shahid thanked\u00a0H.E. Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili\u00a0for Georgia\u2019s continued support to his Presidency of Hope and the priorities of the 76th\u00a0session.<\/p>\n
