Mr. Abdulla Shahid called on H.E. Ms. Salome Zourabishvili,\u00a0President of Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PGA thanked President\u00a0Zourabishvili\u00a0for the warm hospitality extended by the Georgian people. PGA also commended Georgia\u2019s strong commitment to multilateralism, active support to his Presidency of Hope and stressed the growing role and impact of the General Assembly in world politics, promoting peace and security, sustainable development and human rights worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also discussed peace and security issues in Georgia and\u00a0the\u00a0region, as well as current challenges to multilateralism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PGA highlighted the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s role in Geneva International Discussions, as well as the work by the\u00a0European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM)\u00a0and current challenges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, both sides stressed the need to continue progress on mainstreaming gender equality and empowerment of women, including an increased focus on women representation in decision-making processes, at local, national and international levels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in Tbilisi, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>25 July 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 25 July 2022, during his visit to Georgia, the President of the General Assembly (PGA) during the seventy-sixth session, H.E.
