The President of the 76th<\/sup>\u00a0session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with\u00a0a group of women representing CSOs in Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

President Shahid outlined his commitment to advocate for gender equality and women\u2019s empowerment during his presidency, as well as recognizing the role of women in all facets of society. He also stressed that gender equality must always remain at the forefront of multilateralism.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The representatives of women CSO\u2019s expressed that involving more women in the decision-making processes is a core priority. They also briefed the President of the General Assembly on the measures taken by women activists in Kazakhstan to address gender equality through legal and political education, entrepreneurship, and capacity building.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Both sides discussed the role of played by women in dealing with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and respective initiatives to achieve gender equality.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The meeting took place in Astana Marriot Hotel, in Nursultan.<\/p>\n
