In the past hour, the General Assembly elected 14 new members to the Human Rights Council.
From the African States:
- Algeria
- Morocco
- South Africa
- Sudan
From the Eastern European States:
- Georgia
- Romania
From the Western European and other states:
- Belgium
- Germany
From the Latin American and Caribbean States
- Chile
- Costa Rica
From the Asia-Pacific Group:
- Bangladesh
- Kyrgyzstan
- Maldives
- Viet Nam
These are three-year terms that will run from 1 January 2023 until the end of 2025.

EMERGENCY SPECIAL SESSION

Tomorrow, the General Assembly will resume the 11th Emergency Special Session.
That will start at 10AM ET.
LOVE YOUR EYES

Right now, President Csaba Korosi is supporting the #LoveYourEyes campaign. He is having his eyes checked in the 蘑菇视频 Secretariat lobby.
This campaign draws attention to the more than 1.1 billion people who are not able to access eye care services.
This campaign is organized by the United Nations’ Friends of vision Group, under the chairmanship of the Missions of Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh and Ireland to the United Nations.

President K?r?si will have his monthly meeting today with Secretary-General António Guterres.
In terms of other bilaterals.
President K?r?si will meet with Ambassador Ishikane Kimihiro, the Permanent Representative of Japan
He will also speak today with the “Uniting for Consensus” coalition of Ambassadors, to discuss Security Council reform.
