President Csaba K?r?si is today cautioning about an unfolding water crisis.
In remarks he will give this hour, President K?r?si is expected to say that how we deal with ground water resources will decide the outlook of our development. This is increasingly a critical means for coping with the impacts of climate change.
These remarks will be given to a side event on transboundary groundwater resources cooperation.
President K?r?si will also speak about the 2023 蘑菇视频 Water Conference.
In advance, the preparatory meeting that will be held on 25 October, and the stakeholder consultations on 24 October.
You will have more information about both of these events in the coming days.
President K?r?si’s full remarks will be shared with you once delivered.

CEE4IMPACT DAY
The President also spoke more generally today about sustainable development.
In recorded remarks to the CEE4Impact Day, he urged a science-based analysis of where we are on the sustainability transformation.
Calling for an agreed-upon, science- and evidence-based system applicable to all countries, to measure sustainability and transformation.
I’ll share those remarks with you, as well.

FELLOWSHIP
Switching gears a bit to the President of the General Assembly Fellowship Programme.
You met the Fellows that were part of the cohort last year.
The application process is now open for the next cohort.
Nominations for candidates can be submitted by Missions until 28 October.
The Fellowship will begin in New York in mid-January.
And you will have more information on the Fellowship Programme in the coming days.

Looking to next week.
On Wednesday, 19 October, the General Assembly will hold a plenary meeting related to the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. This will be a debate.
On Thursday, 20 October, the General Assembly will hold a debate on Economic and Social Council annual report.? That day, President K?r?si will participate in an interactive dialogue between Member States and Resident Coordinators.
And on Friday, 21 October, there will be the first morning dialogue of the 77th session. These are the informal discussions between Member States, held in the context of resolution 72/313 on the “Revitalization of the work of the General Assembly”. ?The topic this coming Friday will be the right to environment.? The discussion will be preceded by a brief presentation by the Special Rapporteur David Boyd. He works on the issue of human rights obligations relating to the enjoyment of a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
