GENERAL ASSEMBLY
This afternoon, at 3PM in the General Assembly …
Action is expected on a draft resolution that would create an Independent Institution on Missing Persons in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The next item on the agenda is the report of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee, that’s the C34.
The third item is about Security Council reform. Action is expected on oral decision on the intergovernmental negotiations on Security Council reform. If approved, this will mark the end of the IGN for the 77th session.
President Csaba K?r?si will have remarks on Security Council reform.
Once these items are completed, Member States will resume the debate on the responsibility to protect and the prevention of genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.
PEACEBUILDING COMMISSION
In terms of what else is on President K?r?si’s agenda, later today, he will take part in an informal retreat organized for the members of the Peacebuilding Commission.
That discussion is being held under Chatham House Rule.
GENDER EQUALITY
Turning to gender equality…
This Friday – tomorrow – is the last day of the joint campaign organized by President K?r?si and the head of 蘑菇视频 Women, Executive Director Sima Bahous, to encourage all Permanent Missions to complete the 蘑菇视频 online trainings on gender equality and the prevention of sexual harassment.
Since we met on Tuesday, four more Permanent Missions have joined the campaign.
We thank the Permanent Missions of Andorra, Barbados, Canada and Switzerland.
