I was very happy to learn that I was selected for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ PGA Fellowship Programme and it came as a very pleasant surprise. I was excited about the prospects of embarking on a truly unique and prestigious experience, whilst also making friends from all over the world. Growing up watching way too many Hollywood movies…<\/span><\/p>\n

We have now reached the halfway point of our Fellowship Programme at the OPGA and having enjoyed so much from learning and contributing to the mandates of the PGA, I barely even noticed how the days and months have flown by so fast! Towards the end of March,<\/span><\/p>\n

For International Mother Earth Day in late April this year, it was rather opportune that I got to spend it with a small band of adventurers at the OPGA who dared to go hiking upstate New York, to a scenic village called Cold Spring. Uphill and downhill, we trekked through rocks \u2013<\/p>\n

I have been working at the Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (HRH) Team at the OPGA for five weeks now and it has been a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. My team leader and my team members have seamlessly integrated me into the team, and I am grateful to have…<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps the best part about working at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is that you have an all-access pass to most meetings and events that spark your interest and passion! Growing up knowing friends and relatives who are differently abled and witnessing their daily struggles in my home country,<\/p>\n

Growing up watching way too many Hollywood movies, my first impression of New York was that the sights and scenes felt strangely familiar even though it was really my first time being here.\r\n\r\nThe first two weeks were dedicated to a comprehensive and rather intensive training programme conducted by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITAR and lectures presented by experts in their relevant fields, which gave us a holistic overview of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, its main bodies and also equipped us with some useful skills for our personal development. These trainings were incredibly thought-provoking and informative, and it definitely helped build a closer bond amongst my fellow fellows and I, who are all so amazing and have quickly been embraced as a family here in New York.\r\n\r\nThe following week we officially started working at the OPGA, where we have the privilege of working with teams of highly experienced and talented diplomats representing a rich diversity of cultures and backgrounds.
