ACCESSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the next hour, President Csaba K\u0151r\u00f6si will host a training session on accessibility and disability awareness.<\/p>\n

This session is tailored for delegates of Member States, observers of the General Assembly and representatives of NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC.<\/p>\n

It will be an informal conversation on the human dimension of inclusion, with presentations of good practices, etiquette and communication and protocols.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be composed of two segments: one on accessibility of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ meetings, and the other on sensitivity training.<\/p>\n

We do expect participation from delegates and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ staff who have disabilities.<\/p>\n

This training is jointly organized with DGACM, the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

BILATERALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Later this afternoon, President K\u0151r\u00f6si will hold his monthly meeting with the ECOSOC President, Ambassador Lachezara Stoeva.<\/p>\n

The President today will also meet with Ambassador Pascale Baeriswyl, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ as President of the Security Council for the month of May.<\/p>\n

He will have a meeting with Ambassador Alya Bint Ahmed Al-Thani, the Permanent Representative of Qatar.<\/p>\n

And Ambassador Rytis Paulauskas, the Permanent Representative of Lithuania.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

TOWN HALL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tomorrow, President K\u0151r\u00f6si will host his second townhall with civil society.<\/p>\n

The theme is \u201cMidway through the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: Push for Accelerated Progress towards the SDGs\u201d.<\/p>\n

The townhall will start at 10AM ET in Conference Room 1.<\/p>\n

The moderated event will consist of an opening statement by the President of the General Assembly followed by three short keynote statements from civil society representatives, and then a discussion and questions from civil society representatives.<\/p>\n

It will be webcast on Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ WebTV: https:\/\/media.un.org\/en\/asset\/k1j\/k1j10tb7j1<\/a><\/p>\n

The Spokesperson was asked about comments by the Deputy Secretary-General regarding the Taliban and a possible path to international recognition. The Spokesperson said that was a decision for Member States, and specifically the Credentials Committee.<\/p>\n
