PEACEKEEPERS DAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today is the International Day of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Peacekeepers.<\/p>\n

President Csaba K\u0151r\u00f6si would like to extend his congratulations to Captain Cecilia Erzuah, the Ghanaian peacekeeper serving with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Interim Security Force in Abyei or Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵISFA\u2026 and the latest recipience of the United Nations Gender Advocate of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

The President also honours today all the women and men who have served as peacekeepers \u2013 be it military, police or civilians, as the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ commemorates 75 years of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Peacekeeping.<\/p>\n

And we particularly honour those who died in the line of duty. Some 103 women and men added to that list in 2022.<\/p>\n

The President was upstairs just a short time ago and paid homage to those killed at the commemoration there.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

PRESIDENT\u2019S SCHEDULE<\/strong><\/p>\n

In terms of his schedule today\u2026<\/p>\n

President Csaba K\u0151r\u00f6si is today meeting with the President of ECOSOC, Ambassador Lachezara Stoeva.<\/p>\n

This is their monthly coordination meeting to discuss the work between the two bodies.<\/p>\n

Also today, President K\u0151r\u00f6si is meeting with the two co-facilitators who are leading the effort to prepare the Summit of the Future. This is one of the 16 negotiation processes of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

The co-facilitators are the Permanent Representative of Namibia, Ambassador Neville Gertze and the Permanent Representative of Germany, Ambassador Antje Leendertse.<\/p>\n

Also today, the President will meet with Amabssador Jamal F Alrowaiei, the Permanent Representative of Bahrain. This is on the followup to his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain in April.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, the President met virtually with Ms. Daria Robinson, Executive Director of the Solution Accelerator& Deputy CEO of the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator. This is obviously in the context of bringing science to policy makers.<\/p>\n
