The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Dennis Francis, met on Monday, 15 April 2024, with H.E. Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.
The President of the General Assembly and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia discussed efforts to develop quality tourism and advance creative economy for ensuring poverty eradication, creating better jobs, and attaining sustainable development.
They further exchanged views on the positive contribution of intellectual property and preservation of traditional knowledge in enhancing sustainable tourism and advancing innovation and value added to the creative economy.
President Dennis Francis appreciated the Minister¡¯s active role as one of the panelists of the High-Level Thematic Event on Tourism on 16 April 2024 and further commended Indonesia¡¯s commitment and active engagement in the work of the United Nations.
