New York, 17 May 2024 ¨CThe President of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), His Excellency, Mr. Dennis Francis, will undertake official travel from 17 May to Bali, Indonesia, to attend the 10th World Water Forum. The Forum will take place from the 18 to 24 May under the theme of ¡°Water for Shared Prosperity¡±.

The 10th World Water Forum is co-hosted by the Government of Indonesia and the World Water Council. The event aims to address the so-called disconnect between water supply and demand, which has been exacerbated by issues such as population growth and climate change. The PGA is expected to address an audience of Heads of State and Government, Ministers, and other high-level dignitaries and participants at the Forum¡¯s opening. This includes elevating the issue of sea-level rise and the threats posed to Small Island Developing States, a concern which the PGA has emphasized throughout his Presidency, and which will be addressed by world leaders during the 79th Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵGA High-Level Week, in September 2024.?

Whilst in Bali, the PGA will pay a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Marsudi, the President of the World Water Council, Mr. Lo?c Fauchon, as well as the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E.
