Mr. Secretary-General,\u00a0<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Excellencies,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me start by welcoming you all to this critical Ministerial meeting.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In one year\u2019s,\u00a0time, we will gather once more for the Summit of the Future, to hopefully agree on the shape and content of multilateralism for the years to come.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s meeting can help delineate priorities and strategies to achieve the impactful commitments and actions our future requires.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your strong engagement during our deliberations today reaffirms that multilateralism is neither dead,\u00a0not<\/b>\u00a0obsolete.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Excellencies,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Summit of the Future process is the turbo-boost needed to accelerate progress on the SDGs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We must reject letting\u00a0the progress of the 2030 Agenda stray\u00a0any further off course.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The intergovernmental consultations on the Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations are meant to bolster the Pact for the Future.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, these efforts propel us forward, establishing\u00a0a framework for a stronger Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, capable of delivering the SDGs in the promised timeframe.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Friends,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me extend my sincere gratitude to all the co-facilitators involved in the intergovernmental tracks related to the Pact of the Future during the past session: Jamaica, Netherlands, Sweden, Rwanda, Namibia,\u00a0and Germany.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And let me thank you, Member States, for engaging in these discussions with an open and broad mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, I urge\u00a0you to continue down this path \u2013 to listen to each other, to engage in constructive dialogue, and through that, to embody the very tenets of multilateralism.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I encourage all other stakeholders \u2013 civil society, the private sector, academia,\u00a0and financial institutions \u2013 to amplify their voices and share their views. Your inputs are vital!\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The future belongs to us all \u2013 we must all play a role in shaping it.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
