PRESS BRIEFING <\/strong><\/p>\n BY MONICA GRAYLEY,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n SPOKESPERSON FOR\u00a0GENERAL ASSEMBLY<\/strong><\/p>\n PRESIDENT DENNIS FRANCIS<\/strong><\/p>\n United Nations Headquarters, New York<\/strong><\/p>\n 7 December 2023<\/p>\n Video: https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/zkt55t3y<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Good afternoon, everyone!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n PRESIDENT FRANCIS WILL TRAVEL TO QATAR TO TAKE PART IN THE DOHA FORUM<\/strong><\/p>\n The President of the General Assembly, H.E., Mr. Dennis Francis, will undertake an official visit to the State of Qatar from 9 to 11 December.<\/p>\n The PGA will take part in the Doha Forum 2023 under the theme* \u201cWhat now for Palestine\u201d.<\/p>\n President Francis will hold separate bilateral meetings with His Highness Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar and H.E., Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n On Sunday, President Francis will deliver a statement at the Opening Panel of the Doha Forum.<\/p>\n In the afternoon, the PGA will deliver the lecture \u201cNavigating a New Era: Revitalizing Multilateralism for Global Challenges\u201d to students at Qatar University.<\/p>\n Whilst in Doha, Mr. Francis will visit the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ House before he returns to New York on Monday morning.<\/p>\n The PGA will depart from New York on Friday morning.
