He stated that peace is the bedrock; \u201cwithout it, all else falters \u2013 including sustainable development and human rights \u2013 and, as we have seen, may even reverse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The PGA mentioned the continued war of aggression against Ukraine and the conflict in the Gaza Strip\u2014as well as violence and conflict in several other theatres across the world\u2014and how these issues have recently been addressed by resolutions adopted by the General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The PGA answered questions by the students on topics including youth radicalization, multilateralism, and cyber security, amongst others. Mr. Francis also expressed his appreciation for \u201cJapan\u2019s contribution to global leadership and, in particular, its long-standing commitment to international cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to attending the symposium at Tokyo University, the PGA met with Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chief Representative of Komeito, and conveyed his appreciation for the efforts of Japan and the party to promote multilateralism and accelerate action towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the PGA will meet with the country\u2019s Prime Minister, H.E. Fumio Kishida, as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, H.E.
