Mr. Francis will take part in the opening segment alongside the Secretary-General of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, Mr. Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, the President of the 79th Session, Mr. Phil\u00e9mon Yang, and a representative of a Member State affected by adverse effects of sea-level rise.<\/p>\n<p>The multistakeholder panels will start at 10:30 a.m. with a debate on \u201csea-level rise and its legal dimension\u201d, which will be followed by \u201cadaptation, finance, and resilience in relation to sea-level rise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The third panel, which takes place at 3 p.m. will discuss \u201clivelihoods, socio-economic challenges, and culture and heritage in relation to sea-level rise\u201d followed by the last debate on \u201cknowledge, data and science to inform sea-level rise risk assessments and decision making\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The accelerating pace of sea-level rise is increasingly impacting coastal states. Assembly, Mr. Dennis Francis, published a video announcing a 40-day-mark until the Summit of the Future, which will be held on 22 and 23 September in the GA Hall.<\/p><p>The PGA said that the High-level Event is our chance to forge a multilateral system that tackles global challenges, turbocharges the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fosters solidarity and unity against the backdrop of political instability and multiple crises.<\/p><p>Mr. Francis highlighted that the \u201cadoption of an action-oriented \u2018Pact for the Future\u2019, by world leaders, will set the place on 26 September in the Trusteeship Council Chamber at 9:30 a.m.<\/p><p>In a letter to Member States, the President of the General Assembly, Mr. Dennis Francis, informed that delegations wishing to deliver statements can inscribe on the list of speakers online.<\/p><p>The time limit for statements will be three minutes for individual delegations and five minutes for statements on behalf of a group of States. Heads of State and Government will be given priority on the list which will be determined on a \u201cfirst come, first served\u201d basis, in accordance with the established practices of the GA. The provisional list of speakers will be made available on 13 September.<\/p><p>The opening segment will hear remarks from the PGA and the Secretary-General followed by statements by delegations. The second part of the meeting from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. will include remarks by delegations and also representatives of civil society.<\/p><p>The International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons has been observed since 2014.
