President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly to undertake official travel to Slovakia and T¨¹rkiye
New York, 4 April 2025?¨C The President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang,?will undertake official travel to Slovakia and T¨¹rkiye from 9 to 13 April 2025. During these visits, he will discuss his priorities for the 79th?session of the General Assembly and emphasize the urgent need for enhanced global cooperation, as outlined in?the Pact for the Future.
Bratislava, Slovakia (9-10 April 2025)
President Yang will attend the meeting of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA) which takes place in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 7 to 10 April 2025, at the invitation of the Government of the Slovak Republic.
This meeting of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA, attended by a number of former Presidents of the General Assembly and hosted by the Government of the Slovak Republic, provides a platform for discussing pressing global issues and fostering cooperation among nations.
During his visit, the President will deliver a keynote address on his priorities for the 79th?session of the General Assembly at a session of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA meeting. He will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Mr. Robert Fico.
The costs of the visit are borne by the Government of the Slovak Republic and the OPGA Trust Fund.
Antalya, T¨¹rkiye (10-13 April 2025)
President Yang will travel to Antalya, T¨¹rkiye, to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum to be held from 11 to 13 April 2025, following an invitation from the Government of T¨¹rkiye. The theme of the Forum is ¡°Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World¡±.
President Yang will attend the opening segment of the Forum.?He will also participate in a panel discussion titled “The World in Transition”.
The costs of the visit are borne by the Government of T¨¹rkiye and the OPGA Trust Fund.
