New York, 26 June 2025?– The President of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang, will travel to Seville, Spain to attend the?, which will take place from 30 June to 3 July 2025.

The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development provides a unique opportunity to reform financing at all levels, including supporting the reform of the international financial architecture and addressing financing challenges that hinder the urgently needed investment push for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

President Yang will deliver remarks at the opening segment of the Conference. He will underscore the importance of leadership and a renewed commitment to multilateralism, highlighting the urgent need to close the growing global financing gap ¡ª particularly for developing countries ¡ª including by addressing unsustainable debt burdens. The President will also speak at the launch of the Sevilla Platform for Action.

During the visit, he will hold bilateral meetings with H.E. Mr. Jo?o Manuel Gon?alves Louren?o, the President of the Republic of Angola and Chair of the African Union as well as other leaders and heads of international financial institutions attending the Conference.

Before arriving in Seville, President Yang will undertake an official visit to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy from 27 June to 28 June 2025. President Yang will deliver the 2025 McDougall Memorial Lecture at FAO Headquarters and will hold a bilateral meeting with Dr. QU Dongyu, the Director-General of FAO.

The costs of the visit to Spain are borne by Spain, the host country, and the OPGA Trust Fund and the costs of the visit to Rome are borne by the FAO.
