President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly to undertake official visit to the International Court of Justice??
New York, 18 July 2025?– The President of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang will undertake an official visit to The Hague from 22 to 24 July 2025, at the invitation of the President of the International Court of Justice, Judge Yuji Iwasawa.
President Yang will attend a public sitting of the Court on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, where the President of the Court will deliver the Court¡¯s Advisory Opinion on the Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change.
During the visit, the President of the General Assembly will hold bilateral meetings with the President of the International Court of Justice as well as the Registrar and the Deputy Registrar of the Court.
President Yang will depart The Hague on 24 July 2025.
The costs of the visit are borne by the OPGA Trust fund.
