Readout of the President of the General Assembly¡¯s meeting with H.E. Mr.?Ant¨®nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations,?H.E. Mr. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, President of?the Security Council, and H.E. Mr. Bob Rae, President of the Economic and Social Council
The President of the General Assembly,?H.E. Philemon Yang,?met H.E. Mr.?Ant¨®nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations,?H.E. Mr. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, President of the Security Council, and H.E. Mr. Bob Rae, President of the Economic and Social Council?on 25 July 2025.
For the first time during the 79th session of the General Assembly, the Presidents of the three organs and the Secretary-General met for an informal meeting to discuss issues that cut across all organs of the United Nations,?including the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ 80 initiative.
They further discussed the key?role the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ continues to play for peace and security, human?rights, and development, and the importance of effective coordination in this regard.
