Good afternoon
High-Level Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question on Palestine and the Two-State solution
The President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang, commends France and Saudi Arabia for co-chairing the High-Level Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question on Palestine and the Two-State solution. He also expresses his gratitude to the co-chairs of the eight working groups for their contributions to the Conference.
In his opening remarks yesterday, the President stated that the conference is needed more than ever and must lead to a decisive change of direction.? The focus of this conference, he said, must be concrete and action-oriented, identifying steps the international community must take to realize the two-State solution.
Informal meeting of the General Assembly on Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 initiative
On another note, at the end of the week, the President will hold an informal meeting of the General Assembly for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Secretary-General to present a report on the mandate implementation review – part of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 initiative. This will take place on 1 August.
Upcoming Travel
The President will travel to Turkmenistan to attend the Third Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries which will be held from 5 to 8 August 2025.
