New York, 8 August 2025 – The President of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang, will travel to?The Holy See from 9-13 August 2025.
In The Holy See, the President will meet with Pope Leo XIV, the leader of the?Roman Catholic Church.They will discuss the importance of multilateralism and cooperation in addressing instability and conflicts, while also promoting social justice and the protection of vulnerable communities.
The Holy See is the spiritual and administrative authority of the Catholic Church. As a Permanent Observer at the United Nations, the Holy See actively engages in global discussions on humanitarian aid, the promotion of human rights, social justice, and peace.
During the visit, the President will also hold bilateral meetings with officials of the Roman Catholic Church.
The costs of the visit are borne by the OPGA Trust Fund.
