 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Excellencies,<\/em><\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2015, the General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as the blueprint for global transformation \u2013 laying out commitments to end poverty and hunger, realize human rights, and ensure protection of the planet, for everyone, everywhere.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Last year, at its midpoint, we learned that progress on nearly all the Sustainable Development Goals has either regressed below the 2015 baseline \u2013 or is moving much too slowly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Armed with this knowledge, world leaders at the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals Summit adopted a strong political declaration, launching a new phase of accelerated action to achieve the Goals by 2030.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The challenge before us today is to keep this focus.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Success is born from determined action.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And this is a moment for ambition.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A moment for commitment to bold and just transitions that will<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
