Statement by the President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, H.E. Philemon Yang, on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis
It is with profound sorrow and the deepest respect that we mark the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
As head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis was a principled and compassionate leader, and a spiritual guide to billions of people.
I offer my deepest condolences to the Pope¡¯s family and friends, to his home country of Argentina, and to Catholics and others around the world who were inspired by his life of prayer and service.
