The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock met H.E. Mr. Sangjin Kim, President of the United Nations Security Council, on 10 September 2025.
The President of the General Assembly and the President of the Security Council discussed the programme of work for the Republic of Korea¡¯s Presidency of the United Nations Security Council, which began on 1 September 2025. The President of the Security Council?highlighted the mandated meetings of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Security Council taking place in September. He further noted that there would be an Open Debate on Artificial Intelligence and International Peace and Security taking place on 24 September 2025.?
The President of the General Assembly and the President of the Security Council?agreed on the importance of?continued?coordination between the General Assembly and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Security Council, including during the upcoming Secretary-General selection process.
