Readout of the President of the General Assembly¡¯s Meeting with the President of the Economic and Social Council, H.E. Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa
The President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, and the President of the Economic and Social Council, H.E. Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa, held their second regular meeting on 1 December 2025, as mandated under the resolution on the revitalization of the work of the General Assembly A/RES/79/327.
They underscored the importance of effective follow-up of the Second World Summit for Social Development and Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development. They also discussed the upcoming calendar of events, including the selection and appointment process of the next Secretary-General, and agreed to continue to coordinate and align the agenda of General Assembly and ECOSOC in line with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 Initiative.
