The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, met with H.E. Mr. Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in his capacity as the incoming President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of April on 18 March 2026.
The President of the General Assembly and the incoming President of the Security Council discussed the programme of work for Bahrain¡¯s Presidency of the United Nations Security Council, which will begin on 1 April 2026. They further discussed the situation in the Middle East and the process for the selection of the next Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Secretary General.
