The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock,?met with?H.E. Mr. Fu?Cong, Permanent?Representative of the?People¡¯s Republic of China?to the United?Nations?in?his capacity as?the?incoming President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of?May?on?23 April?2026.
The President of the General Assembly and the incoming President of the Security Council discussed the programme of work for the People¡¯s Republic of China¡¯s Presidency of the United Nations Security Council, which will begin on 1 May 2026. They also discussed the importance of cooperation between the Security Council and the General Assembly, including in the context of the?selection?and appointment process?of the next Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Secretary General.
