The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, H.E. Ms. Elina Valtonen on 8 June 2026.
The President of the General Assembly and the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed threats to international peace and security, including the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The President of the General Assembly commended Finland for its leadership role and for its principled position in defense of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Charter. They also discussed the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 reform initiatives and the selection process of the next Secretary-General.¡±
