Excellencies,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let me begin by recognizing the leadership of Ambassador Cornel Feru\u021b\u0103, Permanent Representative of Romania, and Ambassador Mathu Joyini, Permanent Representative of South Africa, as former co-chairs of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Revitalization of the Work of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Revitalization remains central to the strength and credibility of this Assembly. We thank you both, dear Ambassadors, for your stewardship of this process during the previous session.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, the revitalization process unfolds against the backdrop of a broader reform agenda \u2014 the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 Initiative.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These two efforts are intertwined. Both aim to make the United Nations more effective, more efficient, and ultimately stronger.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As the chief deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, the General Assembly must lead by example \u2014 showing that it too can adapt to the challenges of the 21st century.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Business as usual will not suffice.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We need fewer repetitive resolutions, shorter debates, and smarter scheduling. No more \u201cresolutions for resolutions\u2019 sake.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Only resolutions that propel our work \u2014 that deliver on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s mission to promote peace, development and human rights.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

By optimizing our methods and processes, we can work smarter, deliver faster, and ensure that every decision of this Assembly drives real impact.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Resolution 79\/327 charts the course. It calls on each Main Committee to review its working methods and propose concrete measures to enhance efficiency, including:<\/p>\n
