The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is increasing efforts to improve its rule of law capacities to support Member States to address emerging and critical issues such as the proliferation of hate speech and incitement to violence; preventing radicalization\/violent extremism; climate change and the environment impacting on the security and livelihoods of people; and the complexities of artificial intelligence and cyber-crime.<\/p>\n

In particular, transnational organized crime has a negative impact on development, peace, stability, security and human rights, and the increasing vulnerability of States to such crime, as does the threat posed by terrorism and violent extremism, and the growing links, in some cases, between forms of transnational organized crime and terrorism. The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is helping advance States\u2019 capacities to address these issues, based on the recognition of the essential role that respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms and the rule of law play in any efforts to successfully counter terrorism and transnational organized crime.<\/p>\n<\/div>
