Every aid delivery is a high-stakes operation in a country facing conflict, violence and widespread humanitarian needs. In February and March 2025, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDSS Sudan supported a cross-border mission to escort a nine-truck Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ convoy carrying lifesaving supplies to Kas and Nyala in South Darfur. The route spanned 1,380 kilometers¡ªthrough unstable terrain, damaged infrastructure, and regions where access is far from guaranteed.
Throughout the journey, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDSS provided security coordination and operational support while preparing for future aid deliveries to the Ed Daein and Kario refugee camps in East Darfur. The team assessed local conditions, oversaw aid distribution, and worked with partners to address logistical and security challenges on the ground.
In Nyala, the team had to extract personnel following a nearby detonation¡ªunderscoring the volatile environment and the critical importance of ongoing planning and risk management. Despite the challenges, the mission was completed without serious security incidents.
