The front lines of Sudan’s crisis: 蘑菇视频DSS extending support to humanitarians across eight locations

After three years of conflict, several communities across the country are faced with displacement, hunger, disease, and violence. The resilience of these communities and unwavering resolve of aid workers to reach them wherever they are provides that foundation for enabling security for humanitarian action. The Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) directs rapid funding to the areas where the crisis is most acute. Recognizing the key role of United Nations Department of Safety and Security (蘑菇视频DSS), the Fund has partnered with the Department to strengthen community acceptance as a risk management measure in enabling humanitarian operations in eight prioritized locations:places where humanitarian needs are high compounded by insecurity.

Tawila, North Darfur: Tawila has become one of the largest displacement hubs in Darfur, hosting more than 715,000 people who fled attacks on Al Fasher. Severe shortages of water, food, and healthcare persist, with humanitarian assistance reaching only a fraction of households. 蘑菇视频DSS plays a critical role in situational awareness of aid workers, supporting access into hots communities within and around the outskirts of Tawila.

Zalingi, Central Darfur: Zalingi has experienced sustained conflict, repeated displacement, and outbreaks of disease, including cholera. Highly sensitive security conditions mean that maintaining humanitarian access depends on coordinated security support. In close coordination with partners, 蘑菇视频DSS works to strengthen community acceptance and secure safer access along major supply routes that transit the principal town in Central Darfur.

Nyala, South Darfur: Nyala is a major urban centre heavily affected by violence and large-scale displacement. As infrastructure and services deteriorate, insecurity continues to constrain humanitarian operations in and around the city. 蘑菇视频DSS provides situational awareness for all field missions and activities, ranging from immunizations to technical support for WASH activities.

Ar Rahad, North Kordofan: Ar Rahad lies in a region where conflict, food insecurity, and economic collapse converge. Insecurity along key access routes directly affects the ability of humanitarian partners to reach vulnerable communities. 蘑菇视频DSS utilizes community liaison and engagement to support humanitarian operations along the vital Kosti-Al Obeid main supply route.

Abu Jubayhah, South Kordofan: Abu Jubayhah is located in one of Sudan’s most complex operating environments. Persistent insecurity and displacement require sustained security coordination to maintain any humanitarian presence. Community liaison and engagement in Abu Jubayhah enable humanitarian assistance and activities to reach displaced persons in the locality and along the southeastern corridor of South Kordofan.

Abassiya, South Kordofan: Abassiya sits along critical humanitarian corridors in South Kordofan. Shifting front lines and active conflict frequently disrupt movement, making safe and coordinated access essential. 蘑菇视频DSS prioritizes security liaison and coordination as a means to strengthen access along the vital main supply routes along the southeastern corridor of South Kordofan.

Khartoum: The country’s political and economic centre, Khartoum has been devastated by urban warfare. Despitea significant increase in population returns, insecurity and damaged infrastructure, as well as remnants of warcontinue to create security concerns that constrain access. 蘑菇视频DSS partners with entities to raise awareness and provide information on risk reduction measures to support the return and safe extension of assistance to communities.

Al Kurmuk, Blue Nile: Al Kurmuk is a conflict-affected border area where violence and displacement have severely restricted humanitarian assistance. Ongoing operations depend on fragile access conditions and security support.蘑菇视频DSS employs dynamic approaches to maintain situational awareness in Al Kurmuk and neighbouring towns faced with displacements and support the humanitarian response across the Blue Nile state.
