On the first evening of the annual retreat, the Scientific Advisory Board and GESDA co-organized a panel discussion and subsequent reception with Member State representatives hosted by the Permanent Mission of Switzerland. The panel titled “Science and Statecraft: Navigating New Frontiers” explored insights from the GESDA Science Breakthrough Radar and their implications for global policy, with a focus on AI and frontier biotechnologies. Panelists included Anima Anandkumar (Caltech), Margarita Gómez (Southern Voice), Tomas Südhof (Stanford) and H.E. Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni (India), with opening remarks by H.E. Ambassador Frank Grütter (Switzerland) and Under-Secretary-General Guy Ryder.
