How can Malagasy youth use phones and maps as an advocacy tool?

¡°We took photos of the trash that was piling up next to the Antseranampotsy market, and it was uploaded to a digital map,¡± says Emedianna of Madagascar. Emedianna and her fellow mappers use smartphones to create an interactive digital map, which enables young people to document issues in the community that they see as important, such as environmental conservation or gender equality. The data is available to local authorities who can then follow up and take action.
