The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the central platform for reviewing progress on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the global level, will take place on 10-19 July at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Headquarters in New York. The Forum will bring together Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Member States, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders to review the successes, challenges and lessons learned as the world moves towards achieving the Goals by 2030. On the opening day of the Forum, Wu Hongbo, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs will brief the media on the expected outcomes of the event.

The theme for this year’s Forum is ¡°Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world.¡± The set of goals to be reviewed in depth will be the following, including Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development that will be considered each year:
Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere
Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

Launch of the 2017 SDGs Report (17 July)
The 2017 Sustainable Development Goals Report will be launched on 17 July at 11:00 am (EST) by Amina Mohammed, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Deputy Secretary-General, and Wu Hongbo, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs. The SDGs Report provides a snapshot of the world¡¯s implementation efforts to date, indicating areas of progress and areas where more action need to be taken to achieve the Goals.
Partnership Exchange (17 July)
In support of the work of the Forum and the Voluntary National Reviews, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Department of Economic and Social Affairs (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ DESA), in collaboration with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Office for Partnerships (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµOP), is organizing a Partnership Exchange special event on 17 July, to enhance the global partnership for sustainable development. During the event, presenters will show how their multi-stakeholder partnerships and voluntary commitments can address challenges and needs encountered by countries taking part in the Voluntary National Reviews, by sharing their expertise and lessons learned. Voluntary National Reviews (17-19 July)
44 countries will present their Voluntary National Reviews or plans to achieve the SDGs during the 3-day ministerial meeting from 17-19 July. SDG Business Forum (18 July)
Co-hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ DESA and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Global Compact, and organized in collaboration with the Global Business Alliance (GBA) for 2030, the second SDG Business Forum will convene leaders from business and government, together with the heads of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ agencies, key international organizations, and civil society groups to delve into the role business will play in delivering the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
