As global leaders prepare to sign the Paris Agreement on climate change today at United Nations Headquarters in New York, the head of the 蘑菇视频 Office for Disaster Risk Reduction today called on signatories to go beyond their existing commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions if the world is to avoid catastrophic future weather events.
In the lead-up to the Signature Ceremony, many countries have announced their intention to ratify the Paris Agreement on the 22nd, or during 2016. Many more countries have signaled their support for the Paris Agreement’s early entry into force and for its full implementation.
At this press briefing, civil society leaders from a wide sector of stakeholders will react to the signing, report on what’s been happening since December, and discuss steps forward for climate action.
The press briefing will highlight how the Paris Climate Agreement has already begun to impact private sector operations and investments.
