Milestone Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action Launched

The global fashion sector on Monday (10 Dec) significantly increased momentum to address climate change by launching the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. Under the auspices of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Climate Change, leading fashion brands, retailers, supplier organizations, and others, including a major shipping company, have agreed to collectively address the climate impact of the fashion sector across its entire value chain.

Global response ¡®keeps door open¡¯ to limit temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius

A new report issued today by the secretariat of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Framework Convention on Climate Change (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµFCCC) assesses the collective impact of over 140 national climate action plans, called Intended Nationally Determined Contributions or INDCs, and says that together, they can dramatically slow global emissions into the atmosphere.
