Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres has recommended \u00a0five major areas for urgent, transformative action as the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, a creaking economy and climate-related disasters continue to wreak havoc on the Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These recommendations come as preparations are already under way for the SDG Summit<\/a> in September 2023, a critical turning point for mobilizing the political commitment and action needed to advance the SDGs.<\/p>\n

Officials from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Economic and Social Affairs (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ DESA) will brief journalists on these policy recommendations coming out of the forthcoming Special Edition of the Sustainable Development Goals Report that the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Secretary-General will present to Member States today, Tuesday, 25 April.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
