In the Latin America region for the first time, the Forum will feature over 100 events, including 4 high-level plenaries, 50 panel discussions, 11 short-talk sessions, 12 learning labs, 5 demo sessions, 5 announcement sessions, 3 exhibit spaces and local events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHEN: <\/strong>Tuesday 12 November, 11:00am (Medell\u00edn Local Time).<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mr. Federico Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, Mayor of Medell\u00edn<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr. Stefan Schweinfest,<\/strong> Director, Statistics Division, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ DESA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ms. Mireia Villar,<\/strong> Resident Coordinator Office, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Colombia<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ms. Piedad Urdinola<\/strong>, Director, National Bureau of Statistics of Colombia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Speakers at the Forum will include the members of the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/unstats.un.org\/sdgs\/hlg\/members\"><em>High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development<\/em><\/a><em> and the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/unstats.un.org\/unsd\/undataforum\/partners\/programme-committee.html\"><em>Programme Committee Members<\/em><\/a><em> of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ World Data Forum 2024.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 As the world looks ahead to the remainder of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and takes forward \u00a0the recent outcomes from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Summit of the Future, the data and statistics community convenes at the fifth Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ World Data Forum in 2024 to launch a renewal of the global action plan for sustainable development, introducing twelve new priorities and a new set of stretching actions and matching commitments to drive forward high-quality, timely, open, and inclusive data to accelerate progress on the SDGs and to address the multiple crises that threaten our world.
