Make your governors, mayors, national assembly members \u2013 even professors and business communities \u2013 make them accountable,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sg\/statements\/index.asp?nid=9754\">said<\/a> at a youth caucus event.<\/p>\n<p>In a room filled to capacity, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ chief urged youth to think about the circumstances in which people in other parts of the world live \u2013 underscoring the importance of tempering passion with empathy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout compassion, the world would be strange and miserable,\u201d Mr. Ban said. \u201cPassion without compassion will lead to a strange way, undesirable way, sometimes destructive way and tragic way. When you have too much passion, that&#8217;s what happens in many parts of the world.
