During the Holocaust, older Jews were among the most vulnerable, frequently the first the Nazi regime targeted, and the least likely to survive. Yet their experiences remain underexamined. Older Jews and the Holocaust: Persecution, Displacement, and Survival is an important contribution to the history. The historians will discuss how age and physical ability made older adults especially susceptible to violence and death, while also illuminating their lives and moments of agency amid devastating circumstances.
