Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ team visits occupied Palestinian territory to formulate humanitarian action plan 

9 October Aiming to respond to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, a United Nations technical assessment mission, comprised of experts from a range of fields, arrived in Jerusalem today.

Members of the team, led by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Assistant Emergency Relief Coordinator Ross Mountain, will spend the next 10 days in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza before producing a humanitarian plan of action for the occupied territories.

The mission will also follow up on  made by the Secretary-General's Personal Humanitarian Envoy, Catherine Bertini, who visited the region in mid-August.

The technical assessment mission includes senior staff from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµRWA), the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµSCO) and other key operational agencies.
