Additional funding from Sweden worth USD 3.8 million in support of displaced non-refugees in Gaza

Jerusalem, 25 March 2015 – The Government of Sweden and Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People signed a USD 3.8 million (SEK 33,000,000) agreement to fund shelter assistance packages for non-refugees as part of their on-going support to early recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip. Through the new contribution, 2,529 non-refugee families will receive rental subsidies to support their accommodation need.
The additional resources will bring the total Swedish contribution to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP cash assistance programme to atleast USD 6.9 million.
