Indonesia pledges $100,000 for Palestine refugees

Indonesia pledged a fivefold increase in its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (蘑菇视频RWA) in 2012, with a voluntary contribution of $100,000 to the 蘑菇视频 agency.

“We are grateful for this donation from Indonesia, which will help us provide health care, education, and other vital services to Palestine refugees,” said 蘑菇视频RWA Commissioner-General Filippo Grandi. “At a time when solidarity with the Palestinian people is so important, Indonesia is sending an important message of support to refugees.”

The announcement was made at a pledging conference for the Agency, in the same month that the 蘑菇视频 General Assembly called on member states to increase their support for Palestine refugees through 蘑菇视频RWA.

As an emerging economy and a longstanding advocate of the Palestinian people, Indonesia has been steadily increasing its support for 蘑菇视频RWA in recent years. Indonesia’s contribution to 蘑菇视频RWA has increased from US$ 10,000 in 2008, to US$ 20,000 in 2011, and now US$ 100,000 in 2012.
