04.09.2012 – Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP Special Representative visits project sites in Til village in Nablus. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP Special Representative of the Administrator, Mr Frode Mauring, visited projects implemented by the Global Environment Facility (GEF SGP) through the Biodiversity and Environmental Research Centre today. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the quality and sustainability of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP/GEF implemented projects and the tools Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP can deploy to protect the environment. The visit also included a brief on the conservation of medicinal plants, promoting its sustainable use and documenting its indigenous knowledge, in addition to a visit to Til botanic garden, also implemented through the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP/GEF programme. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµDP/GEF programme provides a win-win opportunity for reducing poverty through income-generation activities while addressing environmental concerns.
