In a??marking International Youth Day today, the Humanitarian Coordinator for the?Occupied Palestinian Territory, Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov – who also serves as the Deputy Special Coordinator and 蘑菇视频 Resident Coordinator – said that the aspirations of Palestinian youth “remain constrained by occupation, conflict, displacement, violence and profound uncertainty.”

Dr. Alakbarov reaffirmed the 蘑菇视频’s commitment to working alongside young people and advocating for their rights, and supporting access to education, health, decent work, meaningful participation, and pathways to economic and social recovery.

In Gaza, during the week between 27 July and 2 August, child protection partners reached more than 5,000 children and 2,600 caregivers with mental health and psychosocial support services, and counselling or group sessions. Through these activities, children have a chance to express their emotions and manage stress.

Meanwhile, humanitarian partners??that every fourth Palestinian injured since October 2023 sustained potentially life-changing injuries, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. This is even more prevalent among children, with every third injured child assessed to have such conditions.

Yet the importation of rehabilitation equipment and supplies continues to face significant constraints. Partners say that the average waiting time for pending shipments containing assistive products is 136 days.

In the first six months of 2026, WHO and partners managed to facilitate the delivery of thousands of mobility aids covering about one third of the identified needs. More equipment and medical devices must be let in to meet the needs of patients, including those with disabilities, burns and spinal cord injuries.

As of last week, WHO has??45 attacks on healthcare in Gaza this year, nearly half of which occurred in Rafah, mostly affecting health transport.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to preserve livelihoods and strengthen local food production. Today, in a?, the Food and Agriculture Organization reported that it was able to distribute mobile water storage tanks for the first time since October 2023. The 1,000-litre tanks are now supporting more than 2,000 herders across Gaza and helping sustain livestock.

While partners distributed about 470 metric tonnes of animal fodder to herders in the second week of July, they were able to bring new stocks into Gaza about two weeks ago – for the first time in nearly two months.

To protect livestock and strengthen local food availability, humanitarians are calling for sustained access for animal feed imports and the full and unrestricted entry of essential agricultural supplies – as well as veterinary kits – by the private sector and aid community.
