The people of Gaza are in the middle of an epic humanitarian catastrophe and urgently need aid. Gaza has, meanwhile, become the most dangerous place to be a humanitarian worker in. To date, 224 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA team members have been killed, the largest loss ever recorded in the history of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA is the backbone of the humanitarian operation. Early on when the war began, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA turned most of its buildings to shelters.
“More than ever the people in Gaza need the attention of the international community, and they need also the services of an agency like Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA which has been and continues to be their lifeline” Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini tells Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ News¡¯ Ian Phillips, as they discuss the role of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA in delivering lifesaving humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and critical services to Palestine Refugees across the region.
