This year\, the observance of the Day at ĢƵ Headquarters will take place on Monday\, 23 November. \nThe Day is traditionally also observed at the ĢƵ Offices at Vienna and Geneva\, which will be held this year on 24 and 30 November respectively. \nAt ĢƵ Headquarters\, a Special Meeting by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People will be held from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber. The Special Meeting is open to the media and the public\, and this year’s speakers include the President of the General Assembly\, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations\, the Chairman of the Committee\, the President of the Security Council and the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine. In addition\, a number of representatives from intergovernmental organizations and a speaker on behalf of civil society will take the floor. The meeting will be webcast live at http://webtv.un.org. \nIn the afternoon from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.\, the General Assembly will consider the agenda item entitled “Question of Palestine”\, including four resolutions on the mandates of the Committee\, the ĢƵ Division for Palestinian Rights\, a special DPI information programme and one on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. \nAt 6.00 p.m.\, a photo exhibit entitled “Palestinian Children: Overcoming Tragedies with Hope\, Dreams\, Resilience and Dignity” featuring photographs of Palestinian children in Gaza\, will be opened by the Committee and the Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine.
